Second consultation - Share your feedback on the revised proposals for Warneford Park

This survey is for completion after viewing the exhibition panels for stage two of the Warneford Park pre-planning application consultation. These can be viewed either in person at one of the public consultation events, or an online version of the exhibition panels is available here.

The closing deadline for both online and paper responses is 5pm on 10 January 2025

Introduction

The following questions are shaped around key issues and themes that emerged in the feedback received in the first phase of the Warneford Park pre-planning application consultation held in September.  They relate to the revised proposals/exhibition panels that address these themes.

1.

Do you consider the vision for the development of Warneford Park to be:

The new hospital and research buildings

The new hospital is a key component of our vision for mental health services, to provide excellent community focused care with access to modern inpatient facilities with a focus on patient wellness and therapeutic spaces that connect with nature.

The exhibition panels illustrate features of these buildings including; facilities for patients and staff, sustainability, design and materials. A set of illustrative site sections has been produced to give you an artist’s view of the revised plans from key locations on the site. Read more.

3.

Is your view of the features and design of the hospital and research building:

Travel to Warneford Park

The site will become a vibrant community with more people than today. Our strategy looks at a range of active ways to travel to the site including car, bus, cycle and walking to help move to a more sustainable future. To support this, our proposal includes improving local transport infrastructure and bus provision. Read more.

5.

Does the information in our future travel vision for Warneford Park address your questions or concerns regarding traffic and transport?

Landscaping, environment and biodiversity

The landscape strategy for Warneford Park focuses on unifying the site, and creating more meaningful connections – physically, visually and ecologically – with the wider local area. As highlighted by your feedback, nature is important to the positive mental health for both patients and staff wellbeing. Read more.

7.

Is your impression of the main landscaping, environment and biodiversity approach:

Heritage and restoration

Through sensitive and considered restoration, the historic listed hospital buildings will be repurposed to accommodate the core facilities of a new graduate college for the University of Oxford. Read more.

9.

Do you think that the proposed creation of a new college and approach to heritage and restoration is:

Warneford Meadow and Lye Valley

We want to ensure that the development has minimal impact on important areas adjacent or close to the Warneford Park site, including the Warneford Meadow and the Lye Valley and Fen which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).  Our revised proposals have had helpful input from the Friends of Warneford Meadow and the Friends of Lye Valley.

11.

Do our proposals adequately consider and address any potential impact of the development on Warneford Meadow and Lye Valley?

Other feedback or comments on the pre-planning application plans

13.
