DEMO: Health & Care services for you - post COVID-19
We are going to see increased demand for Covid-19 aftercare and support in community health services, primary care, and mental health.
Community health services will need to support the increase in patients who have recovered from Covid-19 and who having been discharged from hospital need ongoing health support. General practice will need to continue to stratify and proactively contact their high-risk patients with ongoing care needs, including those in the ‘shielding’ cohort to ensure they are accessing needed care and are receiving their medications.
We want to take this opportunity to ‘lock in’ beneficial changes that we’ve collectively brought about in recent weeks. This includes backing local initiative and flexibility; enhanced local system working; strong clinical leadership; flexible and remote working where appropriate; and rapid scaling of new technology-enabled service delivery options such as digital consultations.
Join our virtual town hall meeting and ask questions live
SCW will be going live on 24 December 2020 - join us here to find out about new initiatives in the digital space in the NHS and whare your views on life after Covid-19, the patient's perspective. Our Directors will be taking questions live from the audience and look forward to exploring this topic with you.
You can also take part in our live poll during the event.
We want to to hear from our staff and our communities to understand what we should keep, what we should tailor and what perhaps has not been so good.
This space has been set up to explore some of those opportunities:
- Share your ideas of new initiatives at work or in the community
- Tell us about your personal experiences of accessing services by answering our online survey
- Have you linked with any community groups/networks? Perhaps you can pin these on our map
- Join the conversation in our discussion forum about the benefits and pitfalls of the digital world in lockdown
- Tell us your patient stories about NHS services during lockdown
- What is your preferred method of having a GP appointment? Vote in our poll now!
We will be live streaming to open a debate about digital technologies in the NHS. Key staff across the local NHS will be available to discuss this topic, and answer any questions you may have.
