What is a PIN?

Issue of prior information notice (PIN).

Some commissioners will release a PIN to inform the market, outline future strategic objectives for the services, share key requirements of the contracts, and capture sector information and potential provider views, that may assist in the development of a new service model or contract. A PIN may be issued up to 12 months in advance of the procurement, although typically the lead time is 6 months or less.

What is the aim of this contract review?

BSW needs to develop a vision for BSW Community-based services and the re-commissioning process to ensure continuity of services when existing contracts end.

Are you trying to save money with this review?

The main aims are to make sure the services we deliver in future support our local population to live well, stay well and die well.

When will more information be available?

As the programme moves through it's business case process, we will update this site with further information.  The next stage will be the Strategic Outline Case which is being presented to the ICB Board on 16 March.  This meeting is held in public.
