BSW community services contracts are coming to a contractual end in March 2024. This is an opportunity for BSW and its delivery partners to look at how we, in future, provide community services through several different lenses including, and most importantly, how we support our population to live well, stay well and die well.
The overall aims of the Community Contracts review
To deliver a set of future proofed, high quality and efficient, appropriately integrated community services across BSW that address inconsistencies, unwarranted variation, and service fragmentation.
To facilitate collaboration at scale, between the ICB, Local Authorities, acute care providers and third sector organisations, to provide a set of community services that are designed to meet identified needs of the population across BSW, whilst also addressing local variation needs.
To ensure the safe transfer of community-based care services following the expiry of the existing contracts.
The process
To start the discussion around community services provision we are holding a series of workshops with a range of systems partners, including commissioners and providers. The views shared in these workshops will form part of our preparation work to look at community services as a whole and in a way that can transform the health and well being of local people across Bath, North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire.
As part of this we want to ask the public to share their views on community services.
