16 Year Old Milestone Letter - SAIS Engagement Survey

Help Shape the 16-Year-Old Incomplete Immunisation Letter Project

We’re inviting feedback from SAIS teams to help shape a new approach for contacting 16-year-olds who may have missed some of their childhood vaccinations.

Child Health Information Services (CHIS) maintain vaccination records for all children aged 0–19 across our regions, including those in secondary school. This allows us to identify young people with incomplete vaccinations and reach out to them directly with information about how to catch up on missed vaccinations.

This project aims to establish a consistent and reliable method of informing young people—once they turn 16 and can legally make decisions about their own healthcare—about their outstanding vaccinations. Letters will be sent after their 16th birthday to ensure they are aware of the vaccinations they are eligible for.

Your insights are valued in helping us develop a unified and effective approach. Please take a few minutes to complete this short survey and share your views.
