In October 2021 NHS England announced a new £250m Winter Access Fund to support primary care. The fund covered the five months from November 2021 to March 2022 The aim of the fund was to:
Increase the total number of appointments
Increase the number/or proportion of face to face appointments
Increase access for more patients
Across BOB over 120 proposals were received from practices / PCNs and a prioritisation exercise was undertaken to ensure that support was provided to those practices and geographical areas with the greatest need as a result of challenges faced by those areas or by the communities they serve.
We are keen to undertake an evaluation of the scheme to assess if the project achieved its intended goals, understand how it supported our PCN / practices and to inform decision-makers about future funding. The results from the survey will be shared with NHS England and CCG / ICB Board members.
Please note this survey is now closed.
