In 2023, BSW published the first Integrated Care Strategy for our health and care system which set out our ambition as partners working across the health, social care, voluntary and other sectors to support the people of BSW to live happier and healthier for longer. The Integrated Care Strategy explained how it was informed by individual strategies that had already been written and set the expectation that future individual strategies would reflect its ambitions.
Our Diagnostic Services Strategy is a new thematic strategy which has been written to set out how our diagnostic services will support the delivery of BSW’s overall Integrated Care Strategy. This strategy defines:
The vision for diagnostic services in 2030
Five sets of strategic objectives for diagnostic services
Details on how each of our diagnostic services will deliver on the vision and strategic objectives
We would like to test this draft strategy with our primary care and community services colleagues, to understand if we have identified the right objectives for diagnostics and to understand what more we could do to enable more diagnostics in primary care. We will be developing an implementation plan alongside the strategy and would like to understand any implications on primary care and community services in delivering this startegy.
